This course previously received validation from Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Safeguarding Children's Board. Due to changes in the way they are now operating they will no longer be offering a validation process to ANY agencies. Although this news is extremely disappointing we will endeavour to ensure that the training meets their current requirements.
It is recommended that all staff working with Children & Young People should undertake training every 3 years.
Who should attend?
This course takes 3.5 hours to complete and is suitable for all those who work, or volunteer, directly with children, young people, their families and / or carers.
By the end of the course learners will be able to:
1) Be aware of the key legislation and guidance for safeguarding children and young people;
2) Describe appropriately the signs and symptoms of the possible abuse or neglect of the children and young people with whom they come into contact;
3) Think about risk when considering whether or not to request consent to share information;
4) Explain which individuals, organisations and reference documents they should refer to, and take advice from, if concerned about a child or young person's wellbeing;
5) Explain how to respond to concerns, what to do in the event of a disclosure of abuse and how to record;
6) Name who they should refer to when there is a child abuse concern.
What will you gain from it?
Certificate, valid for 3 years
